This metric evaluates whether the database, standard or policy resource adopts FAIR-supporting terminologies as curated by FAIRsharing. In FAIRsharing, this corresponds to the FAIRsharing record being linked to at least one FAIRsharing terminology artefact record. **Why should we measure it?**

I2 requires that (meta)data use vocabularies that follow FAIR principles. This metric uses the relationships provided within FAIRsharing records to determine whether the resource adopts terminology artefacts represented within FAIRsharing. Terminologies are important FAIR-enabling characteristics because they provide shared meanings for concepts represented within data and metadata. The use of recognised terminology resources can improve consistency, interoperability, integration and reuse across communities.
