This metric evaluates whether the database, standard or policy follows community-relevant best practices for the **Life Science** community. To satisfy this metric, at least one assigned subject must be within the **Life Science** hierarchy of the FAIRsharing Subject Resource Application Ontology (SRAO), and at least one related reporting guideline must have a subject that is identical to or a child of at least one assigned subject within the resource record. In FAIRsharing, this corresponds to reporting guideline records related via any non-deprecates relationship and curated using the Life Science subject criteria outlined above. Expected input is the DOI or URL of the registry (e.g. FAIRsharing) record under evaluation.

**Why should we measure it?**

R1.3 requires that (meta)data meet domain-relevant community standards. Within the FAIRsharing interpretation of this principle for database-level FAIR evaluation, the focus is on the extent to which resources adopt, support and expose community standards and practices that enable FAIR use of their content. This metric uses the relationships provided within FAIRsharing records to determine whether the resource follows community-relevant best practices for the **Life Science** community.
